In Episode 88 we’re joined by Eric Blanc, author of We Are the Union: How Worker-to-Worker Organizing is Revitalizing Labor and Winning Big. We talk about the importance of unions in confronting the many problems of this dystopian timeline and how the model of worker-to-worker unionism is necessary to scale up unionization and create an effective labour movement. We also discuss the recent uptick in labour organizing in North America, including high-profile union drives at Starbucks and Amazon, and what workers are doing to win these struggles. We finish off with a little discussion of Young Cardamom, AKA Zohran Mamdani, mayor-elect of New York City.
